Sofia's Homemade Brownies
These delectable chocolate brownies are Sofia's specialty and are good for just about anything from a delicious dessert to a sweet Sunday afternoon lunch.
INGREDIENTS
- 5 ounces of unsweetened chocolate (about 8 squares)
- 3/4 cup of butter (1 1/2 sticks)
- 1 TBSP vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups of sugar
- 4 eggs (Room temperature)
- 1 1/3 cups of flour
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350° F
- Lightly grease the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan
- Melt the chocolate and the butter in a saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly
- After chocolate and butter mixture is melted, add vanilla and stir
- Set chocolate mixture aside to cool*
- Beat the eggs in an electric mixer
- Add sugar and beat until very light and fluffy
- Fold in the cooled chocolate mixture by hand
- Fold in the flour by hand, as well
- Add chocolate chips
- Pour mixture into the greased pan
- Bake for 25-30 minutes
- Lick the spoon 😉
- Enjoy with your family or friends
*This step is important so the heat from the chocolate doesn't turn the eggs into scrambled eggs, but if you do end up scrambling your eggs, by all means, have chocolate scrambled eggs. We won't judge.
